Step away from the norm and make your concrete the envy of the neighborhood. Stamped concrete is a great way to spruce up any area that you wish to have some decorative flare. From outdoor entertainment areas, sidewalks, or even floors, decorative stamped concrete has become a standard in the industry.

How is decorative concrete different? The slab is prepared the same way as traditional concrete. Thickness, reinforcement, and total yards of concrete remain the same. What makes it different is how it is finished.

We start by adding a base color. This can be integral throughout the entire slab, or can be added on top in the form of color hardener. This is then smoothed out exactly as a traditional concrete slab would be.

Next we apply a release agent. There are different products on the market, but the most common are clear liquid release, which will not change color, or antique powder release, which adds a secondary color to your slab. Don’t worry, if you want true custom staining and multi-colored concrete, a liquid release would be used that allows for staining after the concrete has dried.

Time to apply the stamps! Semi-flexible molds are then used to add the desired texture to your decorative stamped concrete pad. They make multitudes of different styles and designs so you can have a personalized approach to make it unique and your own.

Finally, a sealer designed for decorative applications is applied to protect and amplify the color and texture.
